CLASS PROPHECY A startled world gasped with amazement when Professor Confuscious, a dark horse in scientific researches, suddenly invented a. prognosticator machine which could predict the future. The instrument shows on screen that which passes through the mind. It was my good fortune to attend the lecture given by Professor Confuscious, followed by a short exhibition. When it was all over the other guests went away, but I asked the Professor whether it would be asking too much to go over with the experiment again. I explained that I was appointed to write the Class Prophecy and would like to have the thoughts of the Oriental Prophet portrayed on the screen. He assented. so I gave the Oriental a list of the names of my classmates and asked him to think of their respective fates. The seer was connected by a thin coil to the machine and directly opposite was the screen. Soon the lights were extinguished, then came a few words muttered by the seer, followed by sparks and sputteringg then my attention was given to the screen, for soon I saw what the future had in store for my classmates. What! Could it be possible? To Arthur Bednarkiewicz we will Genevieve Ciesniewskrs blushes and her coy manners. To Virginia Puwal we bequeath Leo Dominick's ability to chew gum which in turn helps his brain to function properly. To John Portalski we grant Ann Gagala's ability to say the right thing at the right time. He won't be able to do it anyway. To Albert Skomski we leave Clara Galazka's bountiful store of Latin which he seems to mildly despise. To Virginia Kurkowski we bequeath Catherine Gnzarek's tongue that has re- versed the law of Nature by never staying in her mouth. To Rita Bozynski and Joseph Zolnierczyk we grant Margaret Junga's store of language with which they can discuss upon any subject with a seeming knowledge. To Arthur Florka we bequeath Mary Kozlowski's title of Windy or if that isn't desirable, the more nauseating title of Cyclone, To Rita Zalewskl and Clara Formell we leave Mary Ann Kuszak's good luck in being able to bluff her way through any test with amazing results.
