gonian All-State basketball first team. Royce was also honored by being chosen for the Shriners' Football Game. Wally Sparks was an alternate for the game. Wally and Royce made the first string on the district football team. Mark Musgrave, John Bick- ford, and Lynn Garrett were named for the second team. Arsenic and Old Lace was the name of the Senior Class Play. All the seniors worked hard to put on the play, which was a huge success. The class elected to have an all-night party May l7, Fun was had by all who were there. Sue Gilbert was chosen as the May Queen. Carol Davidson, Vera McCustion, Peg Stokes, .lan Mulholland, Sheryl Santes- son, and Annelle Davenport were mem- bers ot Queen Sue's royal court. Graduation services were held May 31. We were sad to leave our old friend, Sweet Home Union High School, but we will al- ways remember the many things that hap- pened to us while we were a part of the student body. So long for now. emor Class Hlstory ln the fall of l953 we as tremblrng frosh walked through the open welcome doors of SHUHS We officially became members of SHUHS when we were lnltrated by our superiors the mighty sophomores We elected as our class officers that fall President Ralph Morley Vrce Presrdent Mark Musgrave Secretary Estelle Bonham Treasurer Charlene Luttrull Program Charr man Annelle Davenport Girls League Rep resentatlve Sue Gilbert Sgts at Arms Pat Thometz and Everette Taylor For the All School Carnival rn March we chose Mark Musgrave and Shirley Fergu son as our Carnival Kung and Queen can dtdates Our class was well represented In boys sports and gurls Intramurals As a final touch to our first year of high school we sponsored a May Day Dance ln honor of the May Day Court The dance was a huge success In the eyes of the fresh men Ralph Morley President Jack Hoffman Vrce Presrdent Carol Davidson Secretary Weaver and Harold Davenport Sgts at Arms were our newly elected sophomore class officers We began our new year In SHUHS as sophomores by mrtratnng the lowly frosh Estelle Bonham reigned as Sweetheart Queen that year wrth Carol Davidson and Mary Thlll as prrncesses from our class Sue Gilbert and Ralph Morley were chos en as King and Quen candidates for the Timber Echo subscription drive The class again sponsored a May Dance rn honor of the May Court Ralph Morley was elected Student Body Vice President and Sue Grlbert was elected as the Student Body Assistant Treasurer In he spring electron for the coming year The class of 57 was agarn well repre ented In actrvltles and sports Yea for the Upperclassmen' We began our Junlor year with a great surge of en ergy for our numerous actlvltres of the year We chose as our leaders Mark Mus grave President Annelle Davenport Vrce President Joyce Perry Secretary Vera Mc Culstron Treasurer and Ron Weaver and Peg Stokes Sgts at Arms The blg OCTIVITY of our Junlor year was the Junlor Senior Prom and Banquet Sue Grlbert was appornted In charge of all Prom Banquet committees helping her were co chairmen Nancy Davrs and Jack Hoff man We chose as our theme for the gala affair Stardust ln order to ralse money for Stardust we spent a busy year sell Ing pres and cooked foods having car washes a rummage sale sellrng decals Cow bells and autograph books and presentlng the annual Junror Class Play The Prom was a huge success and was enloyed by everyone who attended Our class colors are maroon and silver our class flower the dark red rose our class motto Theres a bright light ID Hea ven shining over the class of 57 All Men Are Luke Streetcars was the name of our Junior Class Play which was under the dtrectron of Kenneth Payne Mark Musgrave was elected as Student Body President Royce McDaniel was elect ed Vlce President Peg Stokes was elected Secretary and Ron Weaver was elected as Sgt at Arms ln the electrons for the coming year Sue Gilbert took over the Burlon Muller Ron Weaver and Peg Stokes were elected as yell leaders whale Carol Davidson took over the oflfce of Yell Queen Candidates for the Trmber Echo Court from the Juntor Class were Queen Delores Martrn and Krng Ron Vavrosky Sue Gil bert was named ldeal Glrl of the Year and Vera McCustlon was elected as the Varsrty Queen of 1956 Nancy Davls and Lou Vee Davenport were members of her Court Seniors at last' Class officers were An nelle Davenport Presrdent Alton Doan Vice President Jackie Fisher Secretary Su san Horner Treasurer and Leon Swank and Jerry Barton Sgts at Arms The all school magazine subscrlptlon drive was won by the senior class The senior class also came out on top of the Trmber Echo Court with Jan Mulholland and John Blckford as King and Queen Susan Horner and Dave Holley played leading roles ID the allschool play A Man Called Peter Susan and Dave both won honors at Pacrflc Unlverslty as support mg actors Dave took frrst place award and Susan won second ln sports Royce McDaniel made the Ore C O I I . . . . 1 1 ' f - - 11 11 - ' Il ll I I ' 1 1 1 ' 1 i 1 I F I I ' ll Il 1 1 - 1 1 . , . . 1 1 - r 1 1 - 1 - . . .
