quad Football The Huskies opened their season at Dallas and promptly moved to a 31-7 victory. The next week the Huskies were forced To put on a tremendous rally To edge the Bend Lava Bears 14-13 on Two fourth- quarter touchdowns. The South Salem Saxons invaded the Husky strongfold and soundly defeated the Huskies 26-13. The next week the Huskies traveled To North Salem and dumped The Vikings 12-6. Then The Huskies returned home and lost The district championship To The Albany Bulldogs by a score of 21-14 after leading the Bulldogs 7-O. ln Their sixth game They were defeated by Corvallis 12-6 after holding a 6-O lead at half-Time. After a weekfs rest, The Huskies met Lebanon here and rolled To a 13-O victory in The mud. This was The second victory in as many years for The Huskies. The following week The Huskies traveled To Camas, Washington, to play the Paperhang- ers. The Huskies, after leading 19-7 at The intermission, were forced to come from behind in The final quarter to gain a 26-26 tie. The final Coach Gene Werkheiser game of The season was a smashing 27-14 victory over The Cottage S ROYCS MCD0f'iel and WUHY 5PGfkS Grove Lions. The Huskies finished The season with a five win, Three loss, one tie record which was The finest ever owned by This school. Five Huskies were named To The all district Team. They were: , Royce McDaniel, senior quarter back, Wally Sparks, senior Tackle on The first Team, and Lynn Garrett, John Bickford, and Mark Musgrave on The second Team Graduating seniors are: Mark Musgrave, Royce McDaniel, Jack Hoffman, Joe Cramer, Alton Doan, John Bickford, Leon Swank, Lynn Garrett, Everett Taylor, Wally Sparks, Dennis Duncan, Pat Thometz, Jim Price, Howard Daniels, Ray Wood, and Ron VavRosky. ' Royce McDaniel was named to the State's quarterback slot for ,V C -:.5,+- the Shriners' game in Portland, and Wally Sparks was designated as -' an alternate tackle.
