Twenty members remained faithful as we entered upon our third year of high school life. NVQ began to realize how little we knew in comparison with the knowledge of the world and how much there was to learn. This tired us with zeal and enthusiasm to make the Junior year count for more than any of the others in regard to the knowledge gained. This year the officers elected are :-- Gerald Rybolt. . . ...... President Virgil XYearly. . . . . .Yice-President Locia ,lester .... ..... S ecretary 'lean Loy ............................ v .............. Treasurer The Seniors gave us a reception at the home of George XVeag- ant, January Zl. The Elements of Victory over ever difficulty has characterized the members of this class from the beginning. Sometimes, it is true, the victory came after long and faithful perseverance and repeated effort. But victory has been and will be our goal in our Senior year. So, after all, what matter about perseverance and the oft repeated trial if at last triumph come? The fame of our class, which has already reached far, will' increase and spread until it surrounds the Whole World and will endure Till the stars grow old, And the moon is cold And the leaves of the Iudgement Book unfold. -LOCIA TESTER. 111miniMimllmmifixiliiiNm1.l,siliillliiqimii1.mliii5,,im1iyiiiiW114,1111ig1li4m:mqii1i1q51i1i.ipiimmm, iapmwiiMy,.,im4i,Himmml4 llillllllllllllllillllllilvllllilllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllIllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll -pu ml ,m ,W ,,,, ,m m, ,,,, ,,,, ,m M, ,,,, ,,,, m, U., ml ml im, -an nu nu un un nu un ml un nu nn lm nn un In nu nu ll- !121lilillllillllllllllllillll11111lL1mfygmgrpigllvlllrllll!1VlH1113114lglI1i1yi111giI1-31gQ51llH1I1141111151I1yyHH151H11111g14igy131rillUlilIlHllllllllilllllilllllliil llIllllIllllllIlIlIlllillllIllllIlIllllllIliilIllllllllIlillIlIllIlIllllillllIllllIlIlllllllllllllIIllllllillllllllllllllIlllllllllllllllIIIllllllllllllIllIIlllllllllllllllllilllll

JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY History is not 'made by the mere passing of years. It is not necessary for a nation, an institution or a class organization to have a long existence, in order to have an interesting and impor- tant history. The ,lunior Class has a short history but a fine record. Stonewall .lackson's motto was, Xie can do what we undertake. XYe have undertaken to excel in scholarship and in all that pertains to intellectual attainments and thus far have succeeded well. But we realize the truth of the saying that it is easier to make a good reputation than to live up to one. The present blunior Class was organized as Freshmen in the fall of '17 with the following officers :- Ralph Peterson ............... ....... P resident .lean l.oy ...... .... X 7ice-President tierald Rybolt .... ...... ecretary listher ,lohnson .................................... Treasurer NYe were in great fear of the learned Sophomores but soon Class found them to be genial companions. They came in full force to our first reception at the home of Kenneth and lierald Rybolt, ,Xpril 0. XYe strode with unequaled perseverance and skill thru the great trials of the Freshmen year in Latin, Algebra, and linglish. After our Freshmanic greenness wore off we had no difficulty in winning the hearts of the faculty. They overlooked our faults and eulogized our good qualities. All the year we felt our insignificance but we were rewarded by passing examinations successfully. Some who joined us that fall and went into differ- ent fields are:-Loren Buroker, lrene McManaman, Ocie hlohn- son, XYaldo Kilgore, Lottie XYilson, Cadance Hardacre, Gladys Hood, Catherine Shaw, Sylvia Ringo, Chouncey Ladd, Clarence Horine, Orville John, Zelia Boswell, Harold W'eagant, .lohn Hard- acre and Lewis Truss. The following year we became Sophs-meek little yielding fellows, but with confidence in our abilities we attacked the great problems which came to us. The ofhcers elected for this year were 1- Meriam Pence. . . ........ President .lean Loy ....... . . .Yice-President Esther -lohnson .... ..... ecretary Cleo Hannah ...................................... Treasurer On November 14 we were entertained at the home of Doro- thy and Delores Foltz By the Juniors. The members who de- serted the class this year were Eva Downs, Laurence Downs, Miriam Pence and Gladys Pence.
