SECOND ROW: Frank Vrtous Roseann Podolan, Lorraine Freer, Barbara Loper, Harold O'Brien. unior Wag The Juniors presented the play The Great Ben Allah , under the direction of Miss Lillian Baly, on April 6, 1951. The fact that the hobby-minded Mrs.Aldrich should have ex-convicts stealing her silverware while she was reforming them, and homeless cats and dogs should ruin the neighbor's gardens while she was caring for them were excusable. But when she becomes so wrapped up in spirit- ualism that she forbids her daughter to see the man she loves because he is not a spiritualist, her sister Roberta decides to take a hand. So with the help of her niece and niece's friend, she gives Jessica and her snobbish friend a Hindu spiritualist in the person of her niece's fiance. The Hindu's easily explained tricks fool Jessica. His only difficulty is when he hypnotizes Hawkins, the butler, and can't remove the spell. This distresses Dorothy, the maid, because Hawkins was supposed to take her to the Cinema, The peak of humor is reached when a former professor of the boys arrives. Ben is forced to conduct a seance. That is easily arranged, but most unusual in results. '51

I eI'lLOI' On December 9, 1950, the Seniors presented their play, The Groom Said No! under the direction of Miss Lillian Baly. This comedy, written by Ruth and Nathan Hale, is about a family who has a son that just came home, after two years in the South Pacific. Inez Cameron the mother, has him just about married to a girl that her son left behind. Will Cameron, the father, has a keen sense of humor and is always saying humorous things. Steve Cameron, the son who just returned from the marines. Patty Cameron, the daughter, who is always sticking up for her brother. Virgie Cameron, the other daughter, who is always a pushover for anybody. Mary Alice Smith, the little girl next door. Willie Williams, Virgie's boy friend. Clara Curtis, the girl that Steve left behind, who is the aggressive type. Lt. Shirley Anderson, a nurse, with whom Steve has fallen in love. Ed Smith, a friend of Clara's who is very loud, and Ivlrs. Sorenson, who is just nuts. When Steve Cameron came home, his mother and Clara, the girl he left' behind and his sister Virgie have made all the arrangements for their im- mediate marriage. To get out of this he pretends to be a psycho-neurotic patient and has spells without advance warning. The truth of the matter is that he had fallen in love with his nurse while he was in a hospital. She is called to come and take care of him. From the minute that Shirley comes to the house, it is like a free-for-all between the two girls. The story finally comes out right as love always does and Steve marries his Lt. nurse. CHARACTERS: Mrs. Sorenson. . . Muriel Morgon Mrs. Inez Cameron .... Velma Bristol Mary Alice Smith . .
