These manuscripts reveal that each member of the faculty made a distinct contribution to the class. The teachers were not merely for- mal instructors, but rather pleasant individuals in whom the students could confide. As the teachers and students became better acquainted, there seemed to develop an intangi- ble quality which brought about, a- mong the students, the realization that there can be a joy in learning, andthe desire to further their know- ledge. Because the faculty as a whole was probably the most outstanding single factor in the education of these students, we feel they are worthy of recognition.
