To the Class of 1960: T H E With the receipt of this letter you will have con- cluded, happilyl trust, twelve years of public education. In this you have shared in a basic American heritage. Your class, having received a number of National Merit Scholarship Certificates of Merit and Commenda- tion, can well be proud of its significant scholastic ach- ievement. It can also be proud of its participation and leadership ina variety of school activities, and its loyal support of our school standards and our honor system. I should hope, therefore, that whatever your plans may be for the future, you may take with you from Swarthmore High School, a wholesome respect for aca- demic achievement, a willingness to participate in and accept leadership in community activities, and, finally, an enduring loyalty to courtesy, truth, and integrity in all that you say and do. Few may long remember what you say, many may never forget what you do. ADMINISTRATIGN E E Mrs. Clark Mrs. Wisdom, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Driehaus. The members of the Administration are greatly enjoying their new quarters , now complete with a Public Address Room, separate pine- paneled offices for Mr. Bush and Mr. Morey, and a fire-proof vault. Mrs. Clark has her own office next doorto the College and Career Room. No more little cubby holes in Room 13 for the Administration! No more tucked-away places for Mr. Morey! Now the offices, as well as the school, show everyone the efficiency of our Ad- ministration. 14

, Pom FOOTBALL It wasn't because they didn't try. With names like Hoppin' Hal , Foozooski , and Old Man even the most unenlight- ened knows the subject is foot- ball. Combine the blocking of the blind line with the running of the disabled backs. Toss in the stump-handed end and the vicious tackling of the spindly- leggedbacker-uppers. Addthe unequaled spirit of the players and coaches, and the long-suf- fering mothers. Let stand for three months of long, sweaty, dedicated hours and you have football--Swarthmore High- - 19 59. if FIRST ROW: D. Roberts, G. Gilmour, D. Wilkie, B. Jackson, F. Schaeffer, B. Wagstaif, B.
