Ninth grade English begins a study of Shake- speare, which continues through the Senior year. by following the confusing love affairs of Deme- trius and Lysander and their fickle girl friends. Miss McKie also gives her students their first taste of how to write a research theme. Tenth graders can be found studying anything from the Pre- cepts of Ptahhotep to Pilgrims' Progress and A Tale of Two Cities. In the field of American literary greats, juniors wade through The House of Seven Gables and struggle with frequent vocabulary tests. Mrs. Mathews' course covers everything from describing a tin can in detail to reading varied novels and poetry.
