Swarthmore High School has good rea- son to be proud of the colorful, pretty girls who parade in front of Garnet Band. The capable and industrious head majorette, Jackie Farris, led the majorettes and flag twirlers in many varied and original rou- tines. At the crack of dawn for so it seemslj each Monday, Wrednesday, and Friday, a troupe of half-awake singing enthusiasts gather under the direction of Mrs. Betty Jo Wagner to exercise their gifted vocal cords. With no time to fool around, the vocalists accomplish much in the alotted 45 minute period. Five minutes of tune-up drills is fol- with the Chorus lowed hy rehearsing and memorizing parts, struggling through new pieces at first sight, or singing again a favorite number of last year. If not rehearsing for the Thanksgiving season, the Christmas holidays, Baccalaureate, or a special assembly, it's a safe bet that the chorus is on the colorful Spring Concert, which is the high spot of the choral season.
