The team got off to an excellent start. Captain Lois Storlazzi, displaying spirited leadership, led the team to victories over the first four teams they met: Springfield C3-lj, Haverford fi-lj, Xlifesttown C1-Oj, Ridley Township C2-OJ. The Media game was tied one to one, Even when they dropped the last two games to Lansdowne C1-BJ and Upper Darby C2-Bj, the girls showed good sportsmanship. At Lois' party after the Lansdowne game, Mary Lou Pierce was elected next year's captain. As always the band entertained the spectators during halftime at the football games. ane MacAlpines twirling with fire was this year s novelty. At the Cultural Olympics the band received merits for marching and for fine musical arrangements. Some of its members later went on to play in district and state bands. The annual Spring Concert was the highlight of the year. The band concluded its season with Memorial Day and College Alumni Day parades.
