The class of '55 braced itself for the hurdles of The Year, determined to do a good job and to disprove that old saying, He knows not and knows not that he knows not. We were proud of: The Sophomore Swing Bandf, which boasted nine pieces and was featured in many suc- cesses: Jane lNIcAlpine and Nancy Carroll. who starred in the Blackfriars play: and also Bill Smallwootl, Dick Wright, and Karl Thomas, who boasted of their drivers' licenses. Our class party, A Night in Waikiki. was put into the right atmosphere hy: Gail l3auer's songs. the boys' hula dance. and waitresses in exotic sarongs, all introduced by Preston Hollander. Our Soph Hop, with the cooperation of parents and students, was sparked hy the artistic ability of Eddie Grant. Shirley Borden. and Liz Gibson. and proved to be a great success. The Scintillating' Sophomores look hack with mixed emotions ol' pride and regret, and ahead with eagerness and confidence.
