HISTORY As we open the dusty pages of our faded memory book we muse over the happy re flectrons of our days at Swarthmore The blurred photos revrve recollections of amus mg rncrdents and give us cause for many a hearty chuckle Our thoughts flash uack to the outstanding events of our school days and we longrngly thmk of those carefree times As the first page turns over the drama of our school days rs again re enacted The barely recognrzable faces of our earliest childhood fr lends once more grm at us as the camera has caught them happily paddling rn the water at Rose Valley After that we all trooped over to Miss Pr rce s house for a prcnrc lunch This was the big, event of our kindergarten year for we met our future classmates from the other school Remember the beautiful sand castles Winnie and Graham spent hours constructing rn the sandbox'7 Even at this early age Lrttle Alrce Hornaday was up to her usual tricks and managed to break her ar nr A faded card slrps from the nerct page of the old album and the endless days of card trading are renewed agarn This was the year Doris blew rn fr om Chester and cap tured the heart of Casanova Casper Weezre and Hootie whrzzed through their first readrng book together while the rest of the class struggled along after them Drzzy and Luke decrded to set up housekeeping rn the lrttle white playhouse and wouldnt let anyone but Robbre and George vrsrt them A startling photo catches our attention next as we see a group of terrrfyrng Indran dancers with paper bags on therr heads Demure Carolvn however retained her com posure throughout the plav as the nreek squaw We really went all Indian at Rutgers thrs year and spent most of our spare moments weaving on the big loom Do you rt member how naughty lrttle Andy had to stand rn the hall for hrtrng a defenseless boy A tattered picture of a dinosaur stares at us from the following page As third grade terrors we were fascinated bv the study of prehistoric animals Peter De Groot was seriously affected by our studies and boldlv put Pattv Paul s prgtarls rn the rnkyvell The Rutgers Avenue pl ryers still rn action were a smashing success wrth therr sensa tional Mexican productron which was followed by food prepared the South American way On the next page a perfect spellrng paper rs proudlv erchrbrted recalling the days when life s blggest thrrll was the honor of showing a brg red 100 to the other classes However rt was not all work thrs year as parties were rn abundance College Avenue spent an entrre afternoon sailing boats on Patman s Pond and Rutgers not to be out done took an erccursron to Prttenger s farm The stream drdn t look that wet drd rt George?
