The determination to search for values and reaUze goals must be renewed from time to time by meaningful and directed enthusiasm and by reawakened faith in the purpose of the individual. What these values and goals will be is perhaps the most important and most difficult question to answer: but to make life meaningful it must be answered by each of us for himself. However, in these formative years, when the process of maturation is so easily affected by indecision and personal crisis, it is re- assuring to have leaders who can show and give us enthusiasm, faith, and direction. Such a man is Courtney Craig Smith. His personal belief in the value of those principles for which Swarthmore is so well known and his high standards of quality in all spheres of action evoke the highest admiration.
