Among other things it marches in several parades including the Annual Firemen's Convention each year. Oncea year the band has Tag Day, when the band members collect money from door to door for instruments, uniforms, and accessories. This year they collected over twelve hundred dollars, which was their goal. At the band banquet an award was given for the most valuable band member ofthe year. At Christmas time the band carols at the old folks home and at the orphanage. Much fun was had by everyone at the band picnics and splash parties. GOLF For the first time in Clay's history, a golf team was organized in 55. Since it started the season late, it was impossible to get matches. The team was composed of Tom Cooney, Chuck Schmidt, Dean Davis, and Ronnie Mol- nar. The Chippewa Country Club was given the golf team the privilege of using the course for practice. We are hoping to have more candidates for the team this year and a full schedule of matches. BOWLING Clay High entered three teams in the City High School League in i955-56. The teams did not fare too well because of lack of experience. However, the boys never gave up and they retained their team spirit. We are looking for- ward to big things for these teams in the future. 108 NX - gg 1 ffl, si' 'AQ f 'Gif I ,Q 1 , W. - M, , x Q . ' . ' Mm xg l Y 1 .
