AWL, am here for. ’’ “Please be seated, my friends. I’m sure my crystal ball will be clear in a moment. There! It’s clearing up now. ” “My! My! Look what’s in the ball for today. It ' s the Seniors of 1951, in five years from now. ’’ “Do you see what I see? Look-’’ “Why, Barbara Adams and Glenn Brown have sailed into the. Sea of Matrimony! And look! Janet Plummer and Betty Bastarache have entered the Silvers family; Sidney Bass raises hunting dogs; Bruce DeBruhl is a very famous professor; Robert Creasman is an artist; Christine Cordell is now Mrs. Hobert Chapman; and would you look! Bernard Briggs is a movie star! Well, isn’t that nice? I hope they’re all happy. Well, lets get on with the rest of them-Oh, Frances R. Pressley now has three children- And would you look! Martha Penley and Garland are still debating on whether they should get married, or wait awhile. Well, I never! Look who’s in the armed forces! Harry Atkins and Keith Gant are in the F. B. I. (Fort Bragg Infantry!); Mary Ruth Oates is in the W. A. C. ‘s; Roy Creasman and Raymond Ball are in the U. S. Navy; and-Oh, my crystal ball just blacked out. We’ll have to wait a minute until it cools off. This is “hot stuff” you know. ’’ “Well, now let’s go on with the latest. Oh, here’s the redheads of the class. Lloyd Ayers is running a “used car lot ; Look at Wanda Jones! She has finally found her match! (He’s a red¬ head , too.) Now what is this? Why its Nadine Allen! She lives in Ohio, with her husband and two children. (Could his name be Paul?) There’s Elizabeth Shope ! She is working in Detroit, Michigan. (Cheez, kid, how are ya?); Bobby Hunter is a famous Doctor in New York; and, Doggon! Fran¬ ces Spivey has moved to Rotterdam, Holland. (I wonder why?) Now the Sports are in the highlight. Harry Bates is an All American Quarterback; Bobby Cooper is a Sports announcer over WWNC: Betty Stroupe is coaching basketball at Spillcorn High; Earlene McCall is a woman pilot; And Peggy Pembroke is the Manager of a new skating Rink. Now, some of the high schools are in the highlights, along with some of the colleges; Carl Hall is a Math teacher at the University of North Carolina; Ray Bratlett teaches typing in Nebo High School; Wilma Church is a missionary at David¬ son College. Well, there goes the crystal ball again! ’’ “My goodness! Barbara Gibbs runs her own Cafe; Rosa Lee Russell is a nurse in an Ashe¬ ville hospital; and look at Joan Metcalf. Where is she living? Why, it’s Buckeye! Could her hus¬ band’s name be Francis? And look at Harold Moody! He’s running Arthur Godfrey out of busi¬ ness. Joan Penland lives in Grovemont; David Miller directs the movies in Hollywood; Lloyd Edwards is the midget in a circus. Well, things are beginning to fade out, so with Elizabeth Greene working as the head lib¬ rarian in Pack Memorial Library, we’ll put away the crystal ball for another year. Come back again my friends, and we ’ll have some more fun with my crystal ball. SUPERLATIVES 1. Most Popular.Janet Plummer, Lloyd Ayers 2. Most Friendly.Betty Stroupe, Harry Bates 3.
