Ju. 4111 sf -2:1 y ,Fins A SENIOR PLAY The Adorable Spendthrift When Hardy Mason went abroad he proposed to fascinating little Sari, but agreed that she follow him to America for their wedding. There, she was coldly re- ceived by Hardy's family. She is regarded as a social hindrance and finds a rival, who regards rich Hardy as eligible. Hardy goes away and entrusts Sari with 550,000 and several blank checks-signed. Recognizing the fortune as a curse, she disposes of it. This comes to light when Hardy is told he is overdrawn. On top of this Morton deserts Irene on the morning of their wedding and Helen ceases her pursuit of Hardy. Sari tries to make the family understand the motive for her antic, but they regard it as spite and envy-all but Hardy, who preserves silence. With a sigh ot resignation Sari gives them a check in full payment for her Caprice, signed Countess Sari di Courtrail. At this point, one of the butlers who had benefited by Sari's generosity tells them that he invested his money in oil, struck it rich-and declared Hardy in as partner. Hardy wins back Sari, and Irene and Bob are reconciled. Here Mrs. C. V. Schoppee, director, instructs cast.
