Filled with a combination of insecurities. fright and gladness fthey weren't in middle school anymore!! they entered enmasse as the Class of WQBA. Unfortunately fhey found themselves to be low men on the totem pole. Not only were they teased DY seniors. juniors. and sophomores 'our Friends the Class of 'B31, Mr. Filipkowski was forever sighing, 'Gremlins! what will I ever do with them7' Nhat more could they do but innocently ask, 'How do you spell your dame again?' The class quickly got organized electing R. Roy as their LEAGSF, M. Paradise as second-in-command and E. Lombardi and D. Cahill Itwo of the classes later casualties! as secretary and treasurer. J. Eaton became the first Student Council member. R. Maranda became 'the' manager. handling all the duties of the J.V. soccer, basketball and baseball teams. These teams consisted of several freshmen faces including D. Perry. M. Licopoli, K. Ryan, and M. Shaw on the J.V. soccer team and K. Jarvals Kanother later casualty! and Erin on the J.V. field hockey team. Meanwhile, R. Ustinovich ran cross-country as the lone freshman. ,A ,f!i'x.. ,Q i g .N Q. Q I I .. an Dave. Keith. and Kim. along with R. Roy, C. Conlon, and P. Robbins filled out the rosters of the J.V. basketball teams. K. Paquette, C. Hagglund, B. Richard, and A. Adams were chosen to represent the school as cheerleaders. R. Vasalofsky and K. Jarvais played baseball and softball respectively, while R. Hatfield was a helpful softball manager. Freshmen were also involved in other types of extra- curricular activities. A. Adams, T. Chesitis, K. Paquette, D. Cahill. K. Hodgman, T. Desrosiers, P. Roberge. L. Loach, C. Larsen. K. Fairbend, and C. Hagglund sang in the chorus. while Rich, Marty, and Carl played in the band. Several students also set out to organize their own kind of things. Barbara, along with K. Muzzy and C. Libbey, formed an Art Club and painted a Suzies mural to match the boy's in the gym. K. Donahue and E. Lombardi also became very involved with the play that was produced that year. Once again in the fall, the Class of 'Sb congregated at the school. They were a little less nervous and a bit more mature. They were sophomores and one step closer to graduation. As sophomores. they elected M. Paradise as President, B. Richard as Vice, R. Lindblad as Secretary, and K. Donahue as Treasurer. Mary and Pam were also on Student Council. 'S i. A u W?
