The girls eventually became a complete team led by Jody Eaton, Pam Robbins and Ruth Hatfield. Other team members included seniors Cindy Libbey and Karan Muzzy, juniors Stacey Vanderwart, Cindy Chesties, Ellen Smith and sophomores Rebecca Piercey, Lynne Taillfer and Holly Ustinovich. Suddenly the scores became very respectable and they never lost by more than four goals. CROSS-COUNTRY: The 1983 Cross Country team made great improvements over their previous season lin which they were winless, to compile a record of 3 wins and 11 losses, several of which were decided by just a few points. Throughout the first half of the season Sutton was guided by a one-two punch from captain Barry Bergoffen and Mark Martocci. A definite season highlight were the hack to back wins against Bromfield and Tahanto Cthe best meet of the season with a score of 22-373. 11 -1 il By the end of the season Martocci was the 4' runner for Sutton. At Bromfield he achieved . best time on that course throughout the 1983 season. Other members of the team included seniors Lee Simmons and Jim Stevenson, juniors George George, sophomore Chervl Abelli and freshmen Kelly Haggerty, Mike Piercey, Mark Francalangia and Scott Wark.
