Scholten. Field hockey team members were M. Paradise. B. Richard, K. Muzzy. K. Jarvais. E. Lombardi. and J. Eaton. S. Beique. L. Christensen and P. Robbins ran cross-country for the first time. Basketball season came and went with C. Hagglund, M. Brigham, V. Fors, B. Scholten, S. Army, and C. Conlon playing J.V. and K. Jarvais and P. Robbins on the Varsity squad. K. Paquette, C. Larson and G. Lister were on the cheerleading squad this winter. And in the spring, R. Hatfield, K. Jarvais. K. Towle, R. Vasalofsky, and K. Ryan played softball and baseball. Singing in chorus this year were the same group of girls lexcept Tina, Clndy, Karen! in addition to K. Speck, and M. Brigham. C. Conlon, S. Robertson, M. Llcopolt, and C. Serjack played in the band and A. Auger and J. Talbot were members of the Photo Club. The class at this point was quite confident in itself although its members may have been some what apprehensive about becoming upperclassmen and being burdened with new worries about graduation, college and the SAT's. But nothing could be done to slow the passing GBYS and soon it was summer and school was out. As Juniors, the class was presented with and array of new and different 'junior things' like class rings. driving licenses. selling carnations, the prom. N.H.S. and thoughts of graduation. B. Richard was elected as President, P. RODD1hS - Vice, K. Speck - Treasurer, and K. Muzzy - Secretary. Barbie, Pam and K. Donahue were also elected Lo Student Council. Several students participated in the new NAfter Hours Programnand National Honor Society members were inducted. N.H.S. members were L. Simmons, R. Maranda. C. Hagglund. S. Biava, H. Paradise. S. Rocheleau, P. Robbins, K. Donahue, K. Muzzy, B. RICHBFG. and C. Conlon. Unfortunately. the uproar about cutting sports from the school system seemed to affect the class and there was decline in enrollment lsuddenly they were down to be members! and :lass participation. MASH's lest show Sally Ride is first women in space Korean airline shot down by Soviet Union 2146 us Marines killed in Lebanon- 1-1 1 ww-bins UF. EMHSSY T. Chesltis, M. Brigham, J. Eaton, and P. RODDLUS olayed for the field hockey team while D. Perry, R. Venincasa 3. Scholten and R. Vasalofsky played on the soccer team and S. Beique ran cross-country. During the winter season, D. Perry. C. Hagglund, P. Robbins and H. Johnson all played varsity basketball while K. Paquette cheered them on. At the arrival of spring, baseball and softball were cancelled and the spring Wcountdown' days passed slowly. The class concentrated on surviving until the seniors graduated. Finally, on May 27, they were finally safe and finally became seniors when the class of '83 switched their tassels. And now the class of l9Bh is the senior class at Sutton Memorial High School.
