A. :vang November 13, 1955, after approximately seven weeks of rehearsal, the Senior class pre- sented the three-act comedy Our Hearts Were Young and Gay by Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimborough. We were rewarded for our efforts by an appreciative audience. We thank Mrs. Maris for devoting her time to the production of the play and for her excellent work as director. Certainly without her the play would not have been as good a presentation as it was.

In September, thirty-four industrious Juniors under the guidance of Mr. Schwab re- turned to the portals of Sutton High. The officers for the year were: president, Sidney Frieswickg vice-president, June Fessendeng secretary, Vesta Helgeseng treasurer, Sylvia Watson. Student council representatives were Viola Taber and Michael Roussel, then Laura Hutchinson and Richard LeClair. We became engrossed in an effort to raise money for our Washington trip which in- cluded dances, selling Christmas wreaths, and a paper drive. In June, Charmian Fisher was selected by the Dudley-Gendron Post American Legion to attend Girls' State in Bridgewater. At the graduation exercises of the class of '54, June Fessenden was presented the D. A. R. History Award. We helped celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Sutton by operating a food booth. Also, some members of the class participated in the Anniversary parade. We returned in September, 1954, to assume the roles of sophisticated Seniors. Sidney Frieswick was elected presidentg Terry Windle, vice-presidentg Sylvia Watson, secretary, Laura Hutchinson, treasurerg and Alyse Hoover and Richard LeClair as student council representatives. We continued our efforts to raise money by sponsoring the Senior Supper. We soon became adept in culinary art. This event proved quite profitable. The next event of great importance was our Senior play, Our Hearts Were Young and Cray, under the able and Patient direction of Mrs. Maris. On February 5, 1955, we presented the Valentine's Ball, Alice MacLaren was chosen to be queen. Thus the class of '55 has laid the foundation for its future in four years at S. H. S, Viola Taber June Fessenden
