GRADUATION After 13 years of education and discipline, the Senior Class is starting over again. On May 21, 35 class members ended their high school careers and stepped into a new phase of life. The colors were purple and lavender, and the girls dressed in lavender and the boys in purple gowns. The flowers were white roses. Tracy Grothe was valedictorian, and Brenda Schroetlin was salutatorian. Each presented speeches during the exercise along with Rev. Lloyd Gross, Mr. Moody, Mr. Delary Hofmann, and Mr. Moses. Altogether there were 20 Community Scholarships given to those planning to attend college. Tracy Grothe does a good job with her valedictory speech.

In honor of the class of 1983, the juniors hosted the annual banquet and prom on April 30, 1983. Both events followed the theme, Mountain Music. Although this night won't last forever, the memories will remain for years. The meal consisted of prime rib, baked potato, corn, tea rolls, salad, punch or tea, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. After speeches by junior class president, Doug Ochsner, and Jose Griess, senior class president, the banquet ended. Immediately following, students and their dates walked into an old western scene to dance to the music from a disc jockey. Sunset Light and Sound.
