Below: Crownbearers were Melinda and Eric Hagge. A cool crisp wind blew as excitement warmed the crowd. Cheers echoed across the field as the cheerleaders fired up the fans. Half time arrived and the homecoming ceremony began. Sophomore attendants were Scott Scheierman and Tracy Hoagland. Junior attendants were Jeff Leininger and Michelle Fisher. Senior attendants were Tom Sheridan and Verna Huber, Bill Oates and Brenda Barnell, and Stan Rath and Brenda Schroetlin. Tom Sheridan and Brenda Schroetlin were crowned King and Queen. The second half began and BOOM! — lightning crackled, thunder rumbled, the downpour began, and people flew to shelter. After debating whether to continue the game when the rain subsided, the game was finally restarted. Despite the cold and wet, some loyal fans sat in their cars, hoping the homecoming spirit would warm them. Below: Royalty, from left to right, Tracy Hoagland.
