THE LOG Sutherland High School Sutherland, Nebraska Classes......17 Sports.......27 Organizations...41 Events.......55 Junior High.....65 Elementary......73 The LOG Captures Memories of School Year Nine seniors and one junior started planning the 1986 LOG when school opened in the fall. They were joined by another senior at the start of the second semester. In addition to learning new words and new applications for familiar words, the staff was immediately plunged into planning the advertising sales campaign. The staff soon learned that one of the most difficult tasks was to be at the right place, at the right time, with a camera, with film in the camera, and in focus. By the end of the first semester, however, the words design, copy, proof-reading, layout, editing, ads, crop, etc., were becoming second nature and were evolving into a new form of art. Members of the staff are seniors Robert Faling, Cindy King, Diane Smith, Shelly Funk, Roger Miller, James Richter, Robin Green, Jim Hiatt, Ronda Stiver and junior Jodi Hoatson. They were joined at the semester by Robert Martinez. Mr. Tibbits is the teacher-adviser. 2 On Senior Honors Day. Robert Faling received the Distinguished Service Medal for Outstanding Service on the 1986 LOG Staff. Robert was selected for consistently putting forth the extra effort to ensure the success of the yearbook. The medal is not awarded every year. We, the Seniors of '86. dedicate this annual to two friends-Miss Jeanette Damrow and Mr. Richard Tibbits. Tears fill our eyes Because it's all gone, We’re starting a new life, We have to move on. We hope friends will keep in touch As the years pass us by, Although it hurts inside We'll try not to cry. We think of kindergarten And our first day, Now we've reached the end We are going away. How do you say good-by To friends who mean so much? Will there be time To sincerely keep in touch? You’ll always have the memories Of your school years from day one, Don’t think of school as ending— Think a new life has begun. Cindy Kichline, 17, Easton, Pa. Memories....
