r c f Winnzx dVzvzz Sutherland High School commencement exercises were held Wednesday night. May 17, 1978 in the high school gymnasium. Master of Ceremonies was Lance Paulman. Speeches were given by the salutatoriam Joan Hoefer, and the valedictorian, Jcanie Thompson, followed by a benedication ser- mon by Reverend Ron Grimes. Mr. Roger Severson of North Platte sang the class songs “My Fair Share” and Come Sail Away.” Scholarships were presented to Craig Broge, Jackie Fleecs. Joann Grove, Joan Hoefer, Suzette Paulman, Brent Swedberg, Jeanie Thompson and LeeAnn Wilson. Pianists were Mrs. Teresa Rotert and Miss Susan Col- burn. Escorts were Robby Sandberg and Laurie Thompson, Greg Hoefer and Vicki Scott, and Mark Fleecs and Robyn Roy- bal. 2uit±;

 Senior (2Ca±.s iftzofifizcy It is now the year of 1988. Let’s see what the graduating seniors of '78 are doing now. Leeann Wilson now owns her own boutique in New York. She sells only the finest clothes to those who can afford them. Jeanie Thompson has made it through college on an athletic scholarship. She is now the only five-foot woman pro basketball player. Brent Swedberg is doing well. He now owns 10,000 shares of stock in the Pabst Blue Ribbon brewery. Russ Small now owns his own used car lot and auto body shop. His motto is. “No job is too small. Kirk Slack is now manager of a famous prize fighter. He got there by telling his fighter, “Don’t ask why. just blap him!” Doug Shockley has reached his goal of becoming the Billy Graham of tomorrow. Ray Seifer and Lisa are living happily on a 10.000 acre ranch north of Sutherland, where they raise cattle, horses and kids. Robyn Sales and Ann-Caroline Oberg fell madly in love before they left for home. They are now happily married and living in northern Africa, halfway between Brazil and Sweden. Cheryl Roybal has been through college and how has her PhD in diet therapy. Lance Paulman has just signed a contract with Warner Bros, to star in their new movie. “Close Encounters of the Weirdest Kind.” His only line is. “Say there, big boy.” Mitch and Mike Neilsen now own a fleet of 50 combines. In their spare time, they are working on their doctorial thesis in mathematics. Jackie Moran and Randy Barrett now raise honey to feed their little Ba’s.” Cheryl Minshull is working in her greenhouse when she’s not home taking care of her ten kids. Roger Miller has been back to the bone specialist for the 120th time, and he still hasn’t gotten his cast off. Olivia Martinez has taken another job. this one as a cook in the U.S. Navy, to add to Conrad’s pay. Judy Maness went on to get her doctor's degree in Biology. Her favorite class is frog dissection. Paul Lutz owns an auto body shop right across the street from Russ Small's. His motto is. “If the job’s too small, call tall Paul.” Julie Lenz went on to be an RN and is now working on a formula to make her dates taller. Laura Knapp is working at Muchacho’s Amusement Park selling tickets to the “bumper cars. Suzette Kinnaman is still trying to impress the guys by wearing her GBT T-shirt. Don Jochum is now the editor of Today’s Smut.” a magazine that appeals to smut-minded Americans. For her tenth anniversary. Mrs. Dirac Twidwell received a step ladder. She was the former Joan Hocfcr. Penny Hepperly and Mindy Welsh now jointly own Taco John's in North Platte. Randy Forden has worked his way up in the world. He has now been pronounced “King of the Demolition Derby.” Jackie Fleecs is still working in her beauty parlor waiting for Doug to make his first million so they can get mar- ried. Debbie Fleecs was rushed to the hospital after swallowing a five-pound wad of bubble gum. JoAnn Grove, who was the doctor on call, was supposed to take care of her. but she hadn't made it to work that day. Bill Carr can still be found cruising around town with his headphones on. Craig Broge is still learning how to play golf. Jean Blanchard is now the lead singer in his band. “Pierced Ears.” Pam Binegar now works in a stuffed animal factory. Her specialty is poo bears. Larry Anderson now owns Emil’s Cream Can Manufacturing Company.”
