■ u kemhd There are many different types of people. Some are short, some are tall; some stout, some slim; some quiet, some loud; some dreamers, some realists. Whatever the type, each has thoughts, feelings, and ambitions. The government of the United States was cre- ated for the people. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights guarantee to each person the opportunity to express opinions and lead their own lives. Each person should take full advantage of this opportu- nity for freedom if this system of government is to be maintained. People must be free. For without freedom, peo- ple become lethargic and satisfied. The only way to better the world people live in is for people to be free. The annual staff would like to thanks the people of S. H. S. and of the community for their assist- ance and cooperation in making this annual possi- ble. 2 CJ (luciko, Arthur Soderholm III has taught art at Sutherland for the past four years and has been our class sponsor during our junior and senior years. Mr. Soderholm has assisted our class greatly. He played a major role in coordinating the Jun- ior-Senior Prom in 1974. Under his direction, the cover and division pages of this annual were designed. We will always remember Mr. and Mrs. Soderholm for their help and thoughtfulness. From the class of 1975, thank-you. 3 RICHARD MARTINEZ Richard Martinez was an outstanding athlete, scholar, musician, and person. During his brief career in junior high school, he held the 220 yard dash record in track and was the leading scorer in football and basketball. A memorial to Richard has been established. It is presented to the eighth grade student judged to be the most worthy scholar, musician, and athlete. This award has been bestowed to Rick Rasby, Sheryl Daly, Mike Main, and Mike Neilsen the past few years. Richard would have graduated with our class this year. Although his presence has faded from our sight, he shall never fade from our hearts. A silent thought, a secret tear Keeps their memory ever dear. Time may take away the edge of grief, But memories wijll turn over every leaf. Anonymous JUDY PETERSON Judy Peterson set an example for us all. She was a dedicated wife and mother, active in various church organizations and clubs, and a 4-H leader. As busy as she was, she always found time for her family and friends. Judy was just one example of what our mothers do for us. We wish to show our reverence to Judy and to all mothers by this memorial. 4 (nnuJj SPONSOR: Mrs. Altha Babbitt ASSISTANT EDITOR: Jay Welsh EDITOR: Karen Humphrey JUNIOR EDITORS: Melanie Kruger, Greg Babbitt SPECIAL PAGES DEDICATION: Karen Humphrey MEMORIAL: Jay Welsh, Karen Humphrey APPRECIATION: Chris Canaday, Jolene Peterson FACULTY PAGES: Teri Clark, Dave Morgan, Dee Danielson CLASSES COVER AND DIVISION PAGES: Mr. Art Soderholm ORGANIZATIONS Kim Morey, Candy Hepperly, David Vasquez, Mark Swedberg, Don Carr, Jolene Peterson, Teresa Cook Julie Woodard, Jolene Peterson, Chris Canaday, Dave Rotert, Carl Redden, Eldon Smith, Teri Clark, Rick Rasby, Dee Danielson, Sherry Lavaley, Mark Swedberg, Dave Vas- quez ATHLETICS Rick Rasby, Dee Danielson, Sherry Lavaley, Teri Clark, Greg Fleecs, Julia Woodard STOCKMANS VET CLINIC G.
