1 Foreword Editor % IjJuAaJjl' Co-Editor Ldlrvo facJvuMs Let no man think he fights his battle for others. He fights for himself and so do we all. The golden rule is not sentimentality, but the deepest prac- tical wisdom. For the teaching of our time is that cruelty is contagious and its disease knows no bounds of race or nation. Every American knows in his heart of the truth of the democratic way of life. But a nice warm feeling in the heart doesn't take the place of knowing what he's talking about . . . The challenge is whether we as a people and a nation can demonstrate it. The struggle. . . can be won - but it also can be lost. The decision is ours. Robert F. They have given us love, joy, under- standing, tolerance, forgiveness, encouragement, inspiration, and guidance. But most of all, they have given of themselves. By dedicating our annual to them, we hope, that it will repay In a small way what they have done for us. Many of us remember him as a personal friend and one of us knew him as a loving and devoted father; and so, we dedicate this in mem- ory of Don Daly. I would like to think that this may also be the year that you find a forgotten source of energy, the human mind. The mind is one energy source that can be lost only from lack of use, not overuse. It is my hope that each of you will make maximum use of this resource for the benefit of mankind. Sincerely, ' Wayne Ferguson Congratulations to the Seniors of 74 You have reached a plateau, from which you must decide your life's course.
