1970 SENIOR SNEAK TRIP The Seniors left Sutherland on the night of April 24. They traveled to the Denver area by way of a chartered bus. Upon reaching Canon City, Colo., the bright-eyed Seniors ate breakfast and continued on to the Royal Gorge. Here the Seniors observed the deep canyons, beautiful scenery, and rode on the world's steepest incline railway. Returning to Canon City, the next stop was the State Prison. Visits were also made to the zoo in Colorado Springs, and the Air Force Academy, outside of Colorado Springs. Later that day, the 1970 Seniors checked into the Denver Hilton Hotel, accompanied by their five sponsors. Throughout the weekend the Sen- ior’s activities included the Celebrity Lane's, where they could bowl, swim, play pool, play pinball, or etc. At the Taylor Supper Club the Seniors enjoyed a fancy evening meal and the floor show. The Seniors held a picnic in the Look-Out Mountains, visited the Wax Museum, Cinderella Shopping Center, the Red Rocks, and were visited by the Denver Vice-Squad. Upon returning home the Seniors visited the Stapleton Air Port. 22
