Uflij nitherlanb Sciunt I j utherlanb, Nebraska presimteb b r (The j eniflr Class nf 1968 The senior class of 1968 has chosen for its theme for The Log” a very useful initiatory instrument. It is re- ferred to by all as a key. A key can be symbolic of many things, but to us in one respect it signifies the closure of our life here at S.H.S. We will remember everyone who played a part in helping us to secure an obtainable educa- tion. The key opens and closes the door to many wondrous happenings. We believe that the key to our success in scholastics, athletics, music, and social background lies in this community. We appreciate and extend our deepest gratitude to the members of this community for their support in all our activities. Because, without their support, we the seniors of 1968 could not have received the fine education we have or the recognition that was given to us by members outside the community. We would like to thank the annual staff for its dedication in initiating the action of securing data and informa- tion for this annual whichsomeday willbepriceless. We also wish to express our gratitude to the teachers for instill- ing in our hearts the value of an education and to a very experienced annual advisor whose knowledge we couldn’t have done without. In closing we would like to thank everyone who had a part in helping us to obtain an education and to present to you the '68 Log to use as your inspiration and key to the future. Dan Yost Editor Bebiratuw A TRIBUTE TO BYRON FROM FRIENDS The boy with the smile that could win a thousand arguments; The boy who would reply “yes’’ to a request though he really preferred a no”; The boy who could run the family business in times of need. The boy who could never forget your kindness. The boy that any parent would be honored to call ’’Son’’; The boy another would love to call Brother”. The boy an acquaintance referred to as “Friend . The boy with a true and sincere faith in God. The boy with all of these attributed smiled up to God.
