AMAJLM Tl S.3 c «t2AI J dF 5hTp Foreword The 1966 edition of the Log” is presented by the Senior Class. For us it is filled with many memories of our final year at S.H.S.; happy memories of the Prom, pleasant memories of Sneak Trip, and mixed emotions as we neared graduation. For the underclassmen it is filled with memories also, and with many expectations of what their remaining high school years will bring. May this book serve as a reminder of many happy days at Sutherland High School. And may it also serve as a thank-you” to the teachers who have played such an im- portant part in the building of our knowledge, and in particular to our own Mrs. Altha Bab- bitt who has always been more than willing to give us her time and help even when we gave no sign that we appreciated it. Her help and consideration will never be forgotten by us. JACK JILL -- S H Green Stamps Sutherland, Nebraska Phone 6-4757 Dedication 1966 brings to a close the high school days of the graduated seniors. It also brings to a close the many years that Mr. K. W. Bowden has so ably served Sutherland High School and the Sutherland community. Throughout his years at S.H.S. Mr. Bowden has been a dedicated teacher; he has always been ready and willing to help us in any way he could when we had a problem. He has been an avid sports fan; his interest has definitely been one of the reasons for the outstanding teams we have had in the past. He took pride in the conduct of the students and we in turn took pride in ourselves; so much that we have become tops in sportsmanship and S.H.S. has established for itself an enviable reputation. It is our sincere wish that Mr. Bowden will find much success and happiness in his new position. We know that wherever he goes his students will benefit from his influence just as we did. The Sen- iors of 1966 are proud to dedicate the ’66 edition of the “Log to our own MR. K. W. BOWDEN This page is sponsored by THE SUTHERLAND CLINIC Annual Staff Business Managers, J. Shuler, K. BOWDEN Colorado State Teachers College Kearney State Teachers College M.A. Degree I Principal’s Message Congratulations to the Sutherland Seniors of 1966. A high school diploma does not guarantee success in your chosen field. It will however, work for you provided you will let it. This diploma can be used as a plateau from which higher education can be obtained; it can be used as a basis for technical and vocational training; it can be used in your every-day lives to overcome obstacles many times taken for granted by those observing; it can be used to mold you into a productive, useful citizen of your town, state and country; most important, it can be used...only by YOU! Use it well. Superintendent’s Message Congratulations to the class of 1966. Graduation is a great event in your lives, and I’m sure each of you will have happy memories of your school days in Sutherland. A goal, desire, will to succeed, and faith have a lot to do with a person's success in life. I know this class has what it takes to be suc- cessful. Best of everything to all of you!
