Johnston-Student Managers, B. Weir, G. Sanders, E. Meyen, and Bill Thompson. This year Coach Callahan led us to 6 wins, 3 defeats and one tie. In our opening game we sped past Hershey with a 2.3-0 victory. On the first kickoff of the ,-son against the Hershey Panthers, Ken Coker ran for a touchdown with only one defender left standing. In our next game, Big Springs gave us a 47-19 lesson. Big Springs was undefeated throughout the season. We suffered our second straight defeat at the hands of St. Pat’s Irishmen, 25-6. At Paxton we finally came through with a 26-6 win, spaiked by some powerful running by Ron Danielson. At home the next Tuesday the S.H.S. reserves beat the Arthur Longhorns, with a score of 27-6. The peak of the season proved to be our game with Stapleton. Trailing by 13-0 at the half the Sailors came back to tie them 19-19 as the final whistle blew. The Sailors next journeyed to Elm Creek where the Coach cleaned the benches and brought home a 40-0 win. On a none too nice a day we played the Brady Eagles in our last Lincoln County game. Brady charged to a 32-0 victory. The last game of the season we out played Elsie winning by a 46-22 score. This ended the season with a 4th place standing in the LCAA and 3rd place in the S.P.V.A. 22
