SCHEDULE April 13—Lincoln County May 3—South Platte Valley April 21—Kearney Invitational May 12—State Track Meet April 28—District Track Meet May 22—Gothenburg Relays At the time the Annual went to press we had completed only two track meets. The Lincoln County at Brady and Kearney Invitational. Sutherland took home first place trophy at Brady while Brady got second. Those placing were Loren Hilton with a first in High jump. Broad jump, High Hurdles and Low Hurdles. The 880 relay also got first; those running were Ron Warner, George Crosby, Ron Danielson and Loren Hilton. George Crosby broke the record, held by Clark Guffey, when he pole vaulted 10:10Ms. Clark had previously vaulted 10:10V4. Ron Warner received second. Kenny Coker got first in the 220 yard dash. Phillip Merrill placed second in the shot, second in the half mile, fifth in the discus and fifth in the high jump. George Crosby placed fourth in the high jump and fifth in the broad jump. Ron Danielson placed third in the hundred yard dash and fourth in the low hurdles. Kenny Coker placed second in the hundred yard dash, Douglas Leu, fifth in the 440 yard dash, and Harry Meyen, fourth in pole vault. The boys that placed at the Kearney Invitational were George Crosby first in pole vault; Ron Warner placed second. Loren Hilton placed fifth in the high hurdles and Loren Hilton and George Crosby tied for fourth and fifth place in the high jump. 26 The 880 relay team placed fourth.
