' 2462771 ' jeaZ'a77Z There is an old story of three workmen. outwardly doing the same task. who were asked what they were doing. One replied, 'Al am earning 255.00 ai day. Another said. HAS you see, I am cutting stone. The third answered. l am building a cathedral. ln our task how would wc teachers answer that question? Are we earning so much a year? Are we teaching French., Geometry or Geography? Arc we helping to build good men and women? What is the answer of you students? Are you waiting around four, five or six years. until you can get out? That is boredom. Are you simply studying llistory. or English. or Matlieniatics? That is drudgery. Are you learning to live worthily and pre- paring yourself for service to your community and your fel- lowmen? That is vision and purpose. The way we teachers and students answer this question will determine the kind of school Susquchannock will be. May we have the vision to see the possibilities that lie within and around us. All men have limitations. but not one man in one thousand approaches his real ability to do. And this truth alone is enough toerkrourage anyone to go forward with renewed, re- inforced purpose. USE WHAT YOU,VE COT Men don't own equal talents, So why assert they do? For genius can outbalance The work of me and you. Some men are bound to top you A little or a lot, But still that neerln't stop you From using what youlve got To show a bit more arflor Anil generate more zest. And try a little harder To be a little better And get a little farther Than the rest. -BERTON BRALEY
