Susquehanna Valley High School Conklin New York 1975 SABERTALE9 Welcome to Susquehanna Valley High School as we travel through it’s 1974-75 history . . . We will explore various aspects of day to day situ- ations, and how SV students cope with them . . . One way of coping with them is not coping with them. 2 Life for SV students is one trial after another. Study takes up practically all of a student's free time! The process is really quite complicated. It begins with reading and note taking. Afterwards a review and thor- ough study of material is essential for good grades on the test which is sure to follow. Such a rigorous routine is bound to grind most students to the ground . . . 3 . . . However, students at SV are known for their resourcefulness. Somewhere in their busy schedules they manage to find some time for pleasure and even a little fun, too. These precious few minutes are enjoyed not only by the partakers of the event, but by the viewers as well! 4 5 6 7 EVER SINCE THE SPRING OF 1973, Juniors and Seniors have been enjoying ihe use of the Inner Court. Since its opening,” several changes have been made, and most of these have been improvements. The system of monitors and new benches are just two new additions . . . 8 But the biggest pleasure is simply being able to relax, with virtually 9 10 Homecoming 1975 This year's Homecoming was the best ever, with a very intriguing theme. The theme required much thought and effort to prod- uce the results shown in the floats . . . 19 . All the candidates are excited over the big day. The preparations have paid off, as we see everyone looking their best, but still thankful this hard day will soon be just a pleasant memory! Queen Lisa Booth is being crowned by Connie Anto- nelli, Homecoming Queen of 1974. Dr. Laird P. Warner is presenting the bouquet, and offering his congratulations. Candidate Joy Brown was escorted by Ted Hull. They rode in the winning float, done by the Junior Class. The Class of '76 named their float 1949 The Wiz- ard of Oz. M Candidate Diane Talio was escorted by Albert Torto. They rode in the float done by the Class of '75 enti- tled 1964 The Beatles. Candidate Pat Kachmar was escorted by Joe Scott. They are in the float made by the Non-teaching staff. It is titled 1900 Beat the Energy Crisis. Candidate Darlene Mastronardi, escorted by Rick Borovski. They rode in the float done by the Class of '77 entitled 1976 The Bicentenial. Candidate Lisa Booth was escorted by Tim O'Hearn. They are riding in the float done by the Junior High. 1969 The Space Age.” 15 More and more, students are turning to sports for various reasons. For some it serves to relieve their anxieties. For others, the mere challenge is enough to spur interest. (Left page) Mr. Spirit accepts the mere challenge” of our tennis trophy-winner. Ever get the feeling that you're not doing what you set out to do? Hey Coach! You sure wer’re doihg this right? 1 want my Mommy! No, not ring AROUND the basket 18 19 OH WOW MAN!!! You've just got to be kidding! 20 21 HEAR YE!! HEAR YE! ! Never before has any recognition been given to the students of SV who attend BOCES (Board of Co-operative Educational Services). BOCES is a school where a person can obtain knowledge and experience in various professions. and enjoy it at the same time. A large number of students here commute daily to the BOCES complex in Johnson City for half-day courses in their specified sub- ject . The following pictures will briefly summarize some of the courses offered, and illustrate the duties accompanying each course. 22 23 24 25 That flashy smile!
