Mrs. Maxfield taught for 25 years beginning in the Susque- hanna High School on Laurel Street and continuing as a faculty mem- ber when the Susquehanna Consolidated High School opened. A graduate of Mansfield, she taught foreign language and English. At the time of her death she was teacher of Senior English and Latin and an advisor of the Senior Class. Active in civic and school affairs, her loss has been felt keenly by her associates, friends, and pupils. In her memory the Senior Class has initiated a memorial fund from which an award is granted annually to the student who has attained the highest average in two years of Latin study. Rosalie Maxfield demanded the utmost of her pupils but her sense of humor and fair play were always evident. The possessor of a strong and vibrant personality, she will live long in the memory of the school. 2 LOVING MEMORY Non 51131, st-ti aliis ff' A X im. .1 5393255 Charles Stout For the second time within the year the Susquehanna Consolidated School was saddened by the death of a faculty member. Charles Stout, instru- mental music teacher and band director, passed away March 1, 1966. Mr. Stout began his local school career as supervisor of instrumental and vocal music in the Oakland School in 1945 and distinguished him- self as an excellent bandsman. He continued as instrumental music teacher and band director when the Susquehanna Consolidation was formed. He was a graduate of Mansfield State Teachers College and did advanced work at the University of Scranton. A veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theatre. Mr. Stout was always ready with all or part of his band to serve the community organizations whenever the occasion arose. He organized several smaller groups through the years, among which were his German Band and Dance Band. He was a performer and thoroughly enjoyed play ing the clarinet and saxophone with his groups. Charlie's merry Whistle signaled his approach and his friendly greeting and true friendship will be sadly missed. 3 Board Education Susquehanna Consolidated High School Susquehanna, Pennsylvania is l l B -ii 4' 'iis President ........ . . Greater changes have been made in the last five years than at any time in the history of our public school. We wish the Class of 1966 every success, fully realizing that the responsibilities and obligations are becoming more intense and competitive with each succes- sive generation. . fr ' ft C? , . ,f '- , ,e1z,'wuxuLf.fKq G.
