Y elii siiss ' I Miss Suzanne McWhirter Mrs. Susan Raike Mrs. Lillian Thomas Business Education is another aspect of the Dorsey curriculum designated to prepare stu- dents for the post-graduate world. The two most popular courses taken by college prep students, essential for their major, are shorthand and typing. Business law, bookkeeping, salesmen- ship, office procedures, business mechanics, transcript, business English, merchandising, student accounting and secretarial work are also offered to help students in their pattems of life. Heading work experience, Mrs. Fortun, takes students through a network ofjobs to help attain more knowledge of the world ahead of them. Mr. John Viverito Mr. Chadwick Woo 13 Mrs. Franklin. counselor and Apex-Coordinator. is busily signing a change of program for a lost and forlorn student. Questions, questions, questions from the students, the parents, or the teachers, are asked every day in the Counselors' Office. The counselors are required to be prepared to answer a variety of questions concern- ing individual programs, vocational op- portunities, college requirements, and available scholarships, not to mention the answers to individual student problems. Confusion is part ofevery student's high school experiences, and it is in the Coun- selors' Office where some of this confusion disappears. The Counselors are constantly striving to help each student clear up problems. Thus it is not surprising to hear someone exclaim: HI don't know what I'm doing.
