SCC Wins State Crown The 1972 version of SCCs Knight basketball team after o slow stort, opened the new gymnasium by winning a state NCCCAA championship. After dropping the First three games, the team ' s freshmen began to show their style as Surry won their next eight against lough opposition before losing to Gas too and Southeastern for the second time. The Knights began the second season in the state playoffs ot Kf niton against Gaston College toking a 61-60 decision. On the following night SCC rolled over Southeastern Community College to win the state crown The Knights advanced to the Region X NJCAA playoffs at Ferrvm (Va,) Junior College. The Knight ' s season ended with o loss in o close game against Anderson (S.C.)
