The dream still lives, It lives, it lives, And shall not die! —Green We, indeed, owe much to these men, now deceased — Will Monday, Robert S. Burrus, and David Locke Webb. They were chosen to guide into fruition a dream — the founding of our college. In the begining, it was their vision, their resourcefulness, their per- sistence, and their unrelenting toil and opti- mism which gave to us, the people of North- west North Carolina and adjoining areas, that which enriches our lives today. With such a heritage as that which these far-sighted men have given to us, Surry Community College strives unceasingly to broaden and enrich the students ' outlook and aspirations so that, upon graduation, they will be able to weather any storm at any level of life.
