MR. JOSEPH A. SHIFFLETTE Mr. Shifflette, our sophomore counselor, was born in Washington D.C. and attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School. From there he proceeded to Alice Deal Junior High School and then graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1954. Mr. Shifflette attended the University of West Virginia, from which he graduated in 1961. His first teaching job was at Suitland Junior High School where he taught Core. He is at this time attending the Univer- sity of Maryland. Mr. Shifflette has only been at Surrattsville for a year, but we hope that he has liked it and will remain here for many years to come. MRS. MARGARET LOVELESS Mrs. Loveless, our school nurse, was born in Clinton, Missouri and lived there only until second grade. Her family then moved to Clinton, Maryland, where she attended grades three through twelve at Surrattsville Elementary and Surrattsville High School. After graduation she attended the West Baltimore General Hospital from which she grad- uated in 1944. Mrs. Loveless has been at Surratts- ville since 1959, when the new school opened. We have profited much from her guidance in our phy- sical care.

MISS YALE McFADDEN Miss McFadden was born in Lamar, Colorado. She attended a small elementary school named Las Animas until ninth grade. From there she advanced to Louisville High School. After graduation Miss McFadden attended Colorado State College of Ed- ucation where she received a B.A. in English. She then started to teach English in Milliken, Colorado. She then attended the University of Colorado and, afterward, taught and became principal at Erie Ele- mentary School in Colorado. Miss McFadden decided to further her education by attending the University of Maryland and George Washington University. Miss McFadden then came to Surrattsville and has been here for fifteen years. We have all profited by our association with her and hope that future classes will appreciate her help as much as we have. MRS. LILLIAN HOLLAND Mrs. Holland was born in Sheppton, Pennsylvania. She attended Sheppton Elementary there and grad- uated from Sheppton High School. Mrs. Holland attended Bloomsburg State Teachers College where she received her BS degree. She then received her MA attending George Washington University. Mrs. Holland came to Surrattsville in 1949 and has been with us ever since. We want to extend our thanks to Mrs. Holland for her help and guidance in the last three years.
