Completed The cafeteria, which divides into three rooms which are used also as study halls, seats 650 students. Adjacent is a faculty dining room. The kitchen is equipped to prepare and serve 2,000 to 2,500 meals per day to the senior high, the junior high schools and several elementary schools in the city. The large gym which divides in two for boys' and girls' physical education classes has 1,190 sta- dium seats in the balcony and 1, 840 bleacher seats. New sports are being attempted because of special areas as wrestling, appara- tus, rhythm and varsity rooms. The pool area, seating 600 spectators, consists of two pools. Other special areas contain health rooms, a faculty lounge, publication room, guidance offices and special science laboratories for individual or small group study and research.

Dignitaries Highlight Dedication September 12 was set as dedication day and important city and state officials were to speak at the ceremony. The program started as the honored guests walked into the gym, followed by the school choir while the band played On Wisconsin. The invocation was given by the Most Reverend George A. Hammes, Bishop of Supe- rior, followed by an introduction given by Mr. Ray Barber, Superin- tendent of Superior Schools, who introduced the Honorable Charles Deneweth. The mayor welcomed the guests to Superior and in- troduced Mr. George Shaw, former Superintendent of Schools, who gave the history of the new school Mr. Wallace Score, president of the Superior Board of Educa- tion, then presented the keys of the new school to Frank Cirilli. Principal. The dedication ceremony was presented by the students of the new school. Following the dedication the choir sang Blessing Glory, Wisdom and Thanks. Mr. Angus B. Rothwell, State Superintendent, Wisconsin De- partment of Public Instruction, then gave remarks about the new school, and introduced the Governor of Wisconsin, the Honorable Warren P. Knowles. The Governor's address was followed by a premiere of the new School Song, Columbia Blue and White,' written by Louis A. Meier, who also conducted the school band. The dedication ceremonies were completed by a benediction given by Reverend Norman Engebretson, Pastor of Concordia Lu- theran Church. 7
