The World looks on anxiously to see how you, a generation not headed for War and destruction, will undertake the tasks of peace and reconstruction. You have an opportunity to build new physical structures, to erect more perfect spiritual values. Waiting for peace has not been easy, but that is over and the task of reconstruction has already begun. As you take your place as a builder and not a destroyer, you may be sure that a War-Weary world prays for your success. , DONNAL V. SMITH Prefident 9 340 6017. fl'aCf0I'6 DR. MR. DR. DR. DaBrarno, Maville, Verteris. War over-men back at State-our first soccer team since 1941. The men, under the leadership of Prof,' Holloway, completed the season with 2 wins, 1 tie, and 3 losses. More inspiring than the scores, however, was the spirit with which the men played. Neither mud, nor foe could keep them down. The competition was tough, but with the will to Win and the students enthusiastically behind them, they came through with flying colors -an encouraging revival of soccer activity at State. 89 gaffefda! Cortland's Red Dragon varsity basketball quintet ended its season with a record of 10 victories against 8 defeats. Greatly strengthened by the addition of returned servicemen, the squad dropped only two games in the second semester. Some of the highlights of the season which we will not easily forget were: the speed and ability plus a real joy of playing demonstrated by Rabbit Kobuskie . . . the beautiful passwork and team leadership of Mush Moisiechik , . . the upset victory over Colgate . . . the standing room only at home games . . . enthusiastic outbursts of loyal rooters . . . Chugger Davis' able coaching . . . the dependability of Larry, manager . . . the fight and loyalty shown by all the boys. SCHEDULE Dec. 3 A Syracuse , . . . . .
