A Eczff fo ffe Gofors With pride on our faces and in our hearts, we look to our boys who have exemplified the true American spirit of liberal self-sac- rifice in the face of heavy odds. You have given up your hopes, your desires, your careers, to make this world a safer and more peaceful place in which to live. Some of you may be injured, some of you may be maimed for lifeg some of you may not return. We all realize this now because the war is so all-pervasive. But shall we realize it when the war is over? Shall we be cognizant of your spirit, shall we appreciate your deeds? This is the point which we, who are behind the lines, must realize. While we are working in our peaceful habitats and making puny, overt contri- butions in the interests of civilian defense, the boys are fighting in dangerous places and making the supreme sacrifice in the inter- ests of national security. Can we forget this? Shall we acknowledge it? Shall we be ever mindful of it? Now! and Then! we Americans must remember! To you twelve we must be especially mindful. You began the tortuous road of scholastic achievement with us, and with us you stayed through those hard-working days of our early history. But, just when the last hurdle had been leaped and the straight and easy home-stretch loomed ahead, a new danger appeared which threatened the very existence which we love so dearly. Your brave hearts stood you and us in good stead. Like twelve Horatios you offered yourselves that we might cross the bridge across the turbulent river of hate and bigotry. We will remember your sacrifices and by that very act be enheartened to carry on here on the home front with resolution and good cheer. -k48ak .9053--rx :AIIIK-'g .I .. ...cf4:5'Z-.1 '5l .7.25i27f24f: Lf 5 ' . ,, .- ,WPI Q .:14'Q'1:'+I'--viii.-iT H - ffaaeiifwffwww ,A . Up and over! DICK McGEE SKI CLUB STUDENT MANAGER OF ATHLETICS Warsaw, New York's proud son, Dick, accepted grac- iously and willingly all the responsibilities, headaches, and successes of the Student Manager of Athletics. Setting new athletic schedules, publishing athletic programs, checking game expenses, hiring transportation and otticials, delegating trosh scrub assignments, and a few lesser administrative duties were the problems our little lrish friend returned to school to tace. 'little F. l. , as McGee is known to his classmates, always busy, moving from ottice to ottice, losing and find- ing notes, delegating authority, could always be seen smiling and had time to portray his whimsical Trish wit. To Dick McGee, we say x'Well done. The athletic program of 1941-42 was a joyous and ever interesting ex- perience for your schoolmates. ln spite of a crisis you came through nobly where guick action and split second coordination ot activities were the requirements of the job.
