Barnes Well, another year has come and gone. Another graduating class has taken its candle from the flame of Sunset and will soon split into its many different ways of life. I would like to ask that you always carry part of that flame in your hearts because that flame is the Life and Spirit of Sunset, and no school has ever had the spirit that Sunset has. As you leave Sunset, you are leaving as young adults rather than small children. Think back to your first day as a Bison. Remember how you learned the traditions and then soon became a part of them? Sunsetls value comes from making you experience other people through these traditions, and, for me, I can truly say that I love Sunset and that I have enjoyed each one of its traditions. I would like to thank everyone who worked with me and helped in making this the greatest year of my life. Student Body President Good luck to all of you. I6

Listen to the sounds of Sunset, as the Bisons speak . As an old man, if I make it that far, I'll probably recall the three years at Sunset as the best and most enjoyable in my lifetime. I hope you will be able to do the same. There have been easy times and hard times, good times and bad times. One of the things that has upset me is people who are so dependent on other people's thinking that they become mere impressions of others and do not think and act on their own. Are our minds so small that we have to fall in with the pack wherever they run? I think that is a waste. I believe every student at Sunset has a mind of his own with capabilities of success. Use it. Exercise it. Expand it. Our individual burdens of the future will come easier if we learn how to independently use our minds now. I am proud to be an American and a Bison. I urge the Seniors of '75 to retain the Spirit and Pride of Sunset. I urge everyone to try hard at whatever you do and never give up, for you can be defeated, but not eliminated. May peace prevail. Good luck all. Cheers ' Watkins The past three years which we have spent at Sunset are perhaps the most important in our lives. We have learned so many things, experienced so much together, shared many happy and sad times. Now we must look forward to the future. Wherever we go and whatever we do, we must always strive for the best. Remember that every time we sang our school anthem, we pledged an undying love and loyalty to Sunset. We were and always will be Sunset Bisons. That is the one bond which exists between all of us that can never be broken. For those remaining at Sunset, I say make the very best of your three years. Work together and work hard because with unity and effort you can do any- thing. Good luck and God bless all of you each day of your life. Wann Watkins As I look back on the last three years of my life, I've come to realize that I Watkins had an opportunity that not many people have had. I had the right to attend a great school such as Sunset High School. Attending Sunset really wasn't impor- tant to me at first, but I soon found that I had grown to love the people of Sun- set as well as the traditions of the school. I know I will really hate parting with Sunset because it will leave an empty feeling in my heart. I hope that each of you take pride in saying that you graduated from Sunset because many people may not realize such an honor until it has already passed by. No one has ever made the most out of everything, but a person can stillffeel proud saying that he tried. Sunset High School is a great school, but it will only be as strong as its weak- est person. It will only be as good as the Seniors of 1975 want it to be. Don't ever give up on Sunset because in the three years that I was here, it never gave up on me when I was down. To the Senior Class of 1974, don't stop now. We've got the rest of our lives to live to the fullest. Sunset will always be a great memory to look back on, but we should not thrive on the past. The past is gone and only the future is present. Good luck in the future to each and everyone of you and may God bless. 'Damlt Llmws. '7
