L-ii-I We Honor Mr. Michels, Author of the Alma Mater Mr. Otto Michels, highly respected by both students and teachers, quietly retired last year after thirty-eight years of teaching experience at Sunset. As author of the words to our Alma Mater, Mr. Michels will always occupy a place of honor and respect in the time-honored traditions of Sun- set.

Tim Kirby Couples Progress With Hard Work, Hard Play, and High Esteem for Traditions Bisons, Another chapter has been written in the annal of Sunsetls history. It is a colorful chapter, filled with the hopes, the joys, and the frustrations of each of us. This past year, their last in high school, has been a very special year to the seniors. Its memories will long be cherished. To the seniors I should like to express my sincerest thanks for their help, for their support, and, most of all, for their friendship, without which I could not have succeeded. May God be with you as you enter upon your adulthood. To the members ofthe Student Coun- cil I owe much, a special appreciation for their faith and trust in me. They have helped me have a surety of self confidence I shall treasure always. On the juniors I should like to im- press the importance of being the lead- ers of the Bison herd next year. To them I say, L'Work hard, play hard, and keep up the proud traditions of the Sunset we all love so wellf, I, myself, and the entire student body are deeply indebted to the faculty and administrative staff. To them we owe the firm foundation in scholarship, leadership, and behavior that will make us desirable citizens. Their patience and understanding are patterns which we will do well to follow. Thanks again for placing your faith and confidence in me. Sincerely, WN- g Tim Kirby
