Secretary-Treusurer This year the club has continued the policy of giving cash awards, with appropriate certifi- cates, to oustanding students in various departments. Gold emblems were presented to each member of the championship football team, and a dinner was also given all members of the football squad after the close of the season. Membership for the year exceeded six hundredg and a substantial increase was made in the Student Loan Fund, maintained by the club, the revenue coming from membership dues as well as from the Hill-billy play, smokers, and a soft-ball game. Delvgufe to fbi' Dallas City Council The aim of the Parent-Teacher Association of Sunset High School is to promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, church, and community, to raise the standard of home life? to SCCUYC adequate laws for the care and protection of youthg and to bring into close rela- tionship the home and the school so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the training of the child, and develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure the highest advantages in pl1ySiCHl, mental, and spiritual education for every child. We strive to develop in our youth of today the resources to live unafraid no matter what comes, to provide a Sense of belonging and a spirit of sharing, encouragement, and faith, because we realize that knowledge without character ends in disaster. Meetings are held on the second Friday of each month at 10 A. M. at Sunset High School. All parents and interested persons are welcome. Page Sixteen
