President The Dads' Club, organized in 1925 and serving the Sunset High School through the years, has continued its sincere efforts in promoting good fellowship among the parents, the faculty. and the student body. It has worthily supported and sponsored everything which has had for its purpose the betterment of Sunset High School in general and the fostering of a useful school community spirit. With an active membership of more than 400, the club has worked faithfully during the year 1935-36 to achieve its objectives. Chief among those dehnitely accomplished for betterment of the school are ample parking space in front of the building, the installation of a loud speaker and telephone system for the stage, the presentation of a United States and a Texas flag, and the sponsoring of the Student Loan Fund. Other gifts fostering good fellowship were a decorated tree for the Christmas assembly, a health lecture for the boys and their dads, a carnival, a vaudeville show, an All-Sunset annual picnic-and last, awards to deserving pupils in all departments.

Emerson as president, and with a membership of about one hundred seventy-five. The present membership is approximately six hundred twenty-hve. The presidents following Mrs. Emerson were Mrs. F. C. McCaWley, Mrs. Jno. F. Knott, Mrs. Jno. M. Fouts, Mrs. T. A. Waggoner, and Mrs. C. M. McCubbin. These are the objectives of the association: To promote child welfare in the home, school, church, and communityg to raise the standards of the home lifeg to secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children. To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may co-operate intelligently in the training of the child and develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for every child the highest advantage in physical, mental, moral and spiritual educationf'
