The Student Council consists of: Colleen Castles, secretary; John Ellis, rally rep.: Laura Errcnd, treasurer; Chris Siegfried, publications rep.; Fred Leeson, president; Mr. Larry Ackerman, advisor; Heidi Blatter, manager; Dick Ncren, Junior class rep.; Bill Coffee, Boys' League president; Dennis Wagner, presi- dent-elect; Dagny Hooke. Sophomore class rep.; not pictured. Kim Novak, vice president; Harlow Spaan, Senior class rep.; Teri Meyers, Girls’ League president. The Senate, composed of 100 senators, once again discussed the controversial 2.0 GPA amendment. A new amendment was added to the previous proposals stating that the prospective officer must have maintained a 2.0 GPA for the past two semesters rather than for his entire school career. The rule for accumulative 2.0 GPA stayed, however, as there v as not a large enough percentage of votes to change it. Kim Kovak, president of the senate, along with Mr. Ackerman as advisor, tried to promote better communication between students and their government through the Senate. Fall Term Student Body Officers Fall term student body officers busied themselves in all phases of school life, changing and improving it to benefit the students. Council organized ten assemblies, planned Homecoming and raised $650 to help sponsor next year's AFS students. They succeeded in opening the snack bar until 5 p.m. and changed many after-game dance procedures as well as solving assorted other student problems. In short, fall council headed by student body president Fred Leeson, greatly benefitted Sunset and the students as well.
