The Age of the Sun As each year passes progressions are made. Recent years have given birth to developments in every field of study. It has been said so many times the age we live in is one of experimentation and progress, but it must be said again and again, for too few realize the importance of such a fast moving age. The sun has for centuries, been representative of mans' faith in a bright future. The rays are symbolic of a progressive action, all stem- ming from a common focal point. Ancient peoples relied on the sun for more than light and warmth. They thought of the sun as a god. Though the sun is not regarded as a god by the modern world, the powers of life and energy are still recognized. In this book the sun has been illustrated in various ways. Each section of the book, organizations, activities, administrations, sports and classes has its' own sun. In the class section, one sun grows until it has achieved full brilliance. The freshman sun is merely a beginning, a face with few rays. The sophomore sun has grown somewhat, another circle of rays has been added. The junior sun, like the junior himself, is near completion. The senior sun has obtained full size and like the senior has reached a goal. The sun of the faculty section shows the wisdom of our acedemic counselors. Without their guidance there would be no progress for stu- dents. The sports section's sun is one of action and movement. Ac- complishments in the athletic de- partment are wide and varied this year. Without the many clubs and organizations in the school, the stu- dent body would not be a unit. Organization's sun has its center representing the school and its rays being clubs. Activities' sun is divided into nine main rays, one for each month of the school year. These main rays are divided into smaller rays, symbolizing the act- ivities of each month. The Age of the Sun is a pic- torial essay of the forward move- ment in high school.
