A.S.B., otherwise known as the Associated Student Body, rs actually not the people who attend ASB meetings alone. ASB is actually the entire student body, however, popular participation has been a true problem at Sunnyvale. Few students ran for offices and the officers who were involved were working under strain due to lack of support. The Council began the year with hopes of uniting the students and reviving the lost school spirit. The immediate results were few but the future may prove to be better. Good Luck to the future officers.

av During the 1978 marching season, the Sunnyvale High School Marching Band entered eleven com- petitions and won a total of 29 awards. Some of the individual units did extraordinarily well. The Per- cussion Section was awarded two first place awards as was the rifle line. The Tall Flags came in first, third, and fourth in competition. Twirler, Gambi Kin- ton, won both a first and third place award. Though the small size of the band tended to hinder their achievements as a whole, the attitudes and self-dis- cipline created pride and confidence in the individ- uals. 1.
