:mm Improved Performances The Freshmen Basketball Team had a fantastic season, placing third with a record of eight wins and four losses. The team worked hard and long to achieve the best Freshmen record in the history of Sunnyvale High School according to coach Miguel Castillo. The girls Cee Basketball team did very well, with a total of nine wins and three losses, which earned them a tie for second place in the league standings. All the girls have improved a great deal, with top scorers being Lea Lujan, Suzy Carney, and Mirtha Diaz. The future looks bright next year for this great team. 1. Dry Run The spirit was high and the goals were set, but due to ill- ness and injuries the Girls Var- sity Basketball team did not reach their goal for the season. The hustling of jenny Rodri- gues and the scoring and re- bounding of Sandy Reed, Taunnu Vee, Connie Thompson and Dimitra jordan Qprior to in- juryj kept the team in play. Next year's team should be very competitive with five re- turning players and many of the junior Varsity moving up. 1.
