Season Splash The Varsity and JV Waterpolo teams did extremely well: First time in four years the Varsity has won so many games , said coach Harmatz. Mike Sellers, with 34 goals, led the Varsity to 3 wins in the DAL. The IV team won 2 games out of the league. As coach Harmatz put it, This is the best IV team we have had in years . Four out of the six league games were lost by four goals or less. Mark Ophus and lim Roberts were leading scorers. Defensively, Paul Gonzalez performed out- standingly. Despite the small team size, the lets did all right and keep hopes for the future. 1. Varsity Waterpolo team: left to right: Mark Ophus, Dave Silence, Chuck Peltier, john Van Ark, lim Cole, Mike Sellars, lim Campbell, and Coach Sheldon Harmatz. 2. The Var- sity team lines up for the start of the game. 3. john Van Ark, with precise timing, blocks the ball from scoring. 4. l.V. Waterpolo, Left to Right: jim Roberts, Mark Ophus, Matt Wood, Kent Beall, Carl Converse, Raul Con- zales, Scott Duncan, Dan Archuleta. 5. Mark Ophus receives the ball with a splash. 6. Dave Silence sets his arm into throwing position for a score against Monta Vista. 7. Coach Har- matz demonstrates guarding on lim Campbell. 8.
